2nd International Week of Action Against the Militarisation of Youth

This discussion will focus on the impact of US militarism around the globe, including the 700 and more military bases around the world, and its affect on communities. We will discuss the international resistance movement, including movements of student, teachers, conscientious objectors, and grassroots communities who struggle against military expansion and a new?liberal agenda. Participants will also explore what is needed to build an international peace and justice movement that includes counter recruitment.
Thirty activists gathered around noon at the Lakewood Military Recruiting Center, to protest the war and discourage potential recruits from joining the military.
While some read the names of those killed in the Iraq war, others gathered signatures that will be sent to Senators DeWine and Voinovich, asking them to bring the troops home.
