Sat, 09/14/2013 - 9:12pm by nnomyadmin

Workshop: Strategize, Mobilize, Unite: Approaches to JROTC Organizing on High School Campuses

This workshop explores the experiences of high school students and community members in their efforts to restrict JROTC in high schools. Testimony will be given by students who organized to remove JROTC shooting ranges and stop illegal and immoral JROTC policies and procedures in San Diego high schools. Included will be documentation of their struggle to demilitarize their schools. The workshop will also cover recent efforts to remove JROTC in New Hampshire, and general facts and statistics on the program will be presented. We also wish to open up a space for dialogue in order to expand this struggle into a national movement.

Presenters: Will Thomas, Oskar Castro, Members of Education Not Arms Coalition: Mirna Cruz, Nancy Cruz, Marco Mendez, David Morales

What Every Young Woman Should Know About the Military

What Every Young Woman Should Know About the Military

A Brochure for Young Women Thinking About Joining the Military | 2022

"When I joined, I knew that women in the military faced an uphill battle, but I didn't fully understand how serious the issues were and how reluctant leadership is to doing anything about it.

The truth is that there's a culture of harassment and assault that is incredibly harmful to all troops, but especially to gender minorities."
